Here’s an update of the Unemployment Extension for July 20, 2010. I’ve read one interesting comment in here and I would like to share it with you. There are so many comments in this page and a lot are telling the truth behind what’s really happening and what’s the cause of this Unemployment issue in the US.
Here’s a comment from one of the readers:
Some of us have only had 1 tier of unemployment, 26 weeks and then got cut off. I was laid off in December 2009, I’ve worked consistently since I was 15, never a lapse in between jobs, worked hard while at the same time took enough part time classes throughout to earn a bachelors degree in construction management only to lose my job and have my unemployment benefits run out a mere 26 weeks later while many of you are 99ers looking for more. I’ve gone a month now with no income whatsoever.
90% of construction companies are downsizing, the rest are on a plateau. Should I already be resorting to looking for work in retail or fast food? My savings is tapped and credit cards are close. Soon I won’t be able to provide for my family. Soon I won’t even be able to supply shelter to my family. All I’m trying to say is that if there are millions of 99ers out there, those that have recently been unemployed should be entitled to 2nd, 3rd, and 4th tiers also. We shouldn’t even need HR4213 to pass today for that to be a reality.
